Boondi Raita

With Aloo Paratha,  Boondi Raita goes so well.   Raita is yogurt condiment seasoned with herbs and spices.  Minced vegetables, fruit, or Gram Flour smacks such as sev/bujia/crispy noodles or boondi are also added . I have added Boondi which is crunchy Gram Flour snack that is avaliable in ay Indian grogery store. 


1 Cup Yogurt

1/4 Cup  Boondi

1/4 Cup Finely Chopped Onion

2 Tbsp Fresh Finely Chopped Coriander

1/2  Tsp Ginger Juice

1/4 Tsp of Roasted Cumin Powder

Pinch or Two Chaat Masala

 Red Chili Powder to taste

Salt to taste


Preparing Raita

  1.  Wish Yogurt until it is smooth.
  2. To extract Ginger Juice, fine shred a small piece of Ginger, and squeeze shredded Ginger to collect Juice. 
  3. Add Ginger Juice, Salt, Cumin Powder, Chaat Masala, and Red Chili Powder and mix. Do a Taste test and adjust seasoning if needed.
  4. Add Boondi, Onion, and Coriander.  Mix everything together.
